Our Projects
Our past projects have ranged from water purification to solar power, from business to vocational training. We have worked in Peru, South Sudan, Uganda, and Thailand. For 2022, we have a solar power project underway for Thailand and Business training for Uganda, with the possibility of expanding into a new area of the camps as we receive funding.
Solar in Thailand
Installing solar power at the Mercy International Children’s home in Phrae will help the ministry become more self-sufficient and better provide for the children under their care. Our next project, in October 2022, will be to install a 30 kW Grid-Connected Solar System to offset half of the total power usage at the children’s home in Phrae. In addition to doing the install, our team will conduct a number of activities with the children, care-givers, and in the community.
Business training in Uganda
In November 2022, we will return to Uganda to expand on the work started last year in providing basic bookkeeping and business training for South Sudanese refugees in the camps in northern Uganda. We are investigating starting a new work in the Omugo refugee settlement in Terego district or the Adjumani refugee settlement. There is a great need there for training in skill development and an urgent need for land hire for agriculture as food ratio is low in the refugee camp.
